WOMEN BUILD IS AN INTEGRAL COMPONENT OF GAHH

Habitat for Humanity holds an annual Women Build- a home that is led and built by women. Women from all walks of life, from skilled to unskilled, to fully construct a home with a local family in need. This event has been one of GAHH most rewarding events as the friendships developed are everlasting. You are never too old or young (but must be 18 for insurance reasons) to come together. We have had several retirees who have never built a home before become annual members of the build. Of course, if you haven't done one before, you are certainly welcome and wanted. Just be sure to sign up early as it fills quickly.

The Women Build home has been generously sponsored by Lowe’s Home Improvement, with additional major support from local donors.  The project actively engaged women volunteers in the construction of the Habitat home and also featured clinics on home construction basics for the women participating in the build.  Lowe’s is a national partner with Habitat for Humanity International and is the national underwriter of Habitat’s Women Build program, which involves women in construction to address the problem of substandard housing.
