Help Build It! In 2008
Things are as busy as ever here at Habitat! Another Sandia National
Labs/Sandia Retirees-sponsored home broke ground this past Saturday, August
9th. It was a great event, with opportunities to hear from volunteers, the
sponsors, the future homeowners and other key Habitat players.
Next week, we'll be breaking ground on the 94 Rock home, co-sponsored by
the Citi Foundation. During the week of August 18th, there will be online
and on-air promotions about this project, and 94 Rock DJs will be
broadcasting live from the site! Volunteers will be invited to sign up to
work out at the job site Monday through Friday, and in-kind and cash
donations for the project from area businesses will be encouraged. This is
truly an exciting and fun partnership! Visit the
[http://www.94rock.com/pages/94_Events1.html] 94 Rock website for
additional details!
Skilled workers to help build Habitat homes are currently needed! This is
a great opportunity for retirees or others with some free time to give back
to their community. We are also always seeking donations of lunches for
job site volunteers, and volunteer help in our main office. If you are
interested in helping in any of these ways, please call 265-0057 x103.
There are many ways to participate in helping Greater Albuquerque Habitat
for Humanity build safe, affordable homes for families in our community.
To learn more about the many volunteer opportunities or to donate land,
services, materials or funds, please call us at 265-0057 or visit our
website at [http://www.habitatabq.org/] www.habitatabq.org.
